Inside The Barn
The interior spaces, which total 155 square metres, are designed for relaxed holiday living: the main living space is a large double-height room, measuring 9.4 x 4.5 metres, and there is good circulation space throughout. Furniture, fittings and equipment are of good quality; stylish but comfortable. The flavour is airy, white and uncluttered – a little kinder than minimalist. There is under-floor heating throughout. The entrance hall has plenty of storage for jackets and boots, and there is ample space in the neighbouring cart shed for keeping bicycles and sports equipment under cover.
The dining area has seating for six. There is plentiful crockery – all white! - and glassware for eating inside or out, and a good choice of mats, bowls and servers for dressing the table.
The living area has two three-person sofas and some soft chairs around a deep pile rug with coffee table. There is a flat television screen and Ipod dock. Books and games are provided.
Beyond the dining area is the kitchen, a well-equipped and spacious galley of 4.3 x 2.9 metres, with enough equipment, pans and cookware to suit an enthusiastic cook.
The main room is overlooked by a glazed gallery, reached by a semi-enclosed spiral staircase which leads to the first floor bedrooms. Suitcases go in the cupboard underneath.
There are three generous double bedrooms, all facing the evening sunsets and each measuring roughly 4.6 x 3.4 metres. This ground floor bedroom has its own bathroom with shower.
The two bedrooms on the first floor, with long views over the wild flower meadow to the fields and trees beyond, each have an en-suite shower room.
All three bedrooms have ‘zip and link’ beds. They can be made up as twin single beds or as one superking. Medium and firm pillows are provided. Bed linen is luxurious white Egyptian cotton, 400 thread count.
Bath and shower rooms have top quality hand and bath towels. There is a utility room for washing, drying and storing laundry.
